Well Red is a highly favored coffee house in Auburn. It is so popular it was voted Best Coffee Shop by Auburn University students and the surrounding community.
Well Red is owned by Richard and Crystal Tomasello, and having been open for two years in June, there is never a slow day for this small business.
Well Red is located right by the railroad tracks on Opelika Road in downtown Auburn.
This quaint house has plenty of seating with an inside area along with a back and front porch. With an array of choices, Well Red serves hot and iced coffees, kombucha, wine, beer, and desserts and pastries.
Although they can provide for all your coffee needs, Well Red is really considered an independent bookstore as the walls are lined with shelves of books. Each of the shelves is organized by category making things easy to find.
Well Red regularly hosts events such as book clubs, author visits and book signings. Furthermore, they have the latest hours of any local coffee shop.
Its hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. It is the perfect place to cram for a test or have a bottle of wine with friends.
Not to mention, the service is exceptional. Who doesn't love coffee served with a smile?
"Well Red is such a great environment. The staff is so kind and the coffee is amazing," said Hailey Smith, freshman at Auburn.
This small business strives to bring the community together, and they have definitely overachieved that goal. Opening their shop to a new church that does not have a space for worship yet is only one example of how Well Red has brought people closer.
This special cafe is a place where people are always excited to come back. Well Red is the complete package as it has a lively atmosphere, many options and great coffee.
When having trouble deciding where to get your next “pick-me-up”, remember Well Red.
