The winner of the Plainsman's Choice 2023 Best Vegetarian Food, Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe serves a variety of meals for those abstaining from consuming meat.

Taziki’s Mediterranean Café is the winner of the Plainsman’s Choice readers' poll for best vegetarian food. Their customers have made it clear that the restaurant’s clean, healthy Mediterranean food paired with its welcoming feel and sense of community are at the top of the vegetarian food chain in Auburn.

Located just a half-mile from Jordan Hare Stadium, near the corner of Samford and South College Street across from Funchess Hall, Taziki’s has been a part of the Auburn community since its opening in 2014.

Taziki’s Auburn describes itself as “a spot where local families and college students gather for a healthy, flavorful Chicken Rollup or Beef Gyro, perfectly grilled Salmon, or a freshly chopped Greek Salad.”

Their location allows college students, Auburn residents and visitors alike to stop by and enjoy the Mediterranean cuisine while getting a feel for college life with a view of Auburn University’s campus.

They offer in-house dining, curbside and third-party delivery through Grubhub, Doordash and FetchMe delivery, as well as catering for various events such as weddings and tailgates for Auburn Football.

“I enjoy the Mediterranean flare of Taziki's, as the seasoning and grilling technique is unmatched here in the southeastern United States,” said Josh Kaiser, sophomore in chemical engineering.

Since its opening, Taziki’s has not only established a business that brings clean, healthy Mediterranean food to Auburn but also engages in the community and gives back to schools and charities in addition to nationwide initiatives.

One of their main service initiatives is the HOPE Project, Herbs Offering Personal Enrichment, which was launched with the focus of providing jobs for students with developmental differences.

Through the HOPE Project, Taziki’s trains students to grow the herbs that are used in their restaurants. They provide a sense of independence and fulfillment to students with developmental differences that are often overlooked.

At Taziki’s, they live up to their claim that “We strongly believe that community is key. We've made becoming part of our community a high priority, and we're always looking for exciting and meaningful ways to further our involvement.”
