This Sunday, the Auburn Tigers (13-12, 2-9) will fight to put an end to their six-game losing streak against the Texas A&M Aggies (9-11, 2-9) on the road and earn their third conference win of the season.
The Tigers have had a rough time since the new year, with their only two wins of 2026 coming back-to-back against the Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide in the middle of January. Since then, the Tigers have lost to five top 15 teams in both the SEC and AP polls and have also lost to unranked Florida following a rematch.
Texas A&M has not been faring any better, however, with the same conference record as the Tigers and three less wins overall. The Aggies sit only one spot behind Auburn in conference rankings at second to last, beating out only the Arkansas Razorbacks. Interestingly, the Aggies share both of their conference wins with the Tigers, having just recently beaten the No. 23 Crimson Tide at home in a 72-69 nail-biter on February 8 and beating the Gators a month prior.
Harrisoum Coulibaly had a great performance in Auburn’s most recent defeat to the No. 5 LSU Tigers, putting up 13 points, four assists, and three steals. Coulibaly also leads the Tigers in total points and points per game, with 263 and 11.0 respectively.
“She’s trying,” Vickers said of Coulibaly's performance against LSU. “We have to do a better job of making Harissoum’s job easier. She’s going to be a thousand-point scorer in this league. It’s a matter of making her life easier. When we do that, the sky’s the limit for her.”
Redshirt junior Kaitlyn Duhon will be fun to watch during this matchup as well, as she only needs three more steals to come second all-time at Auburn for steals in a single season. She leads the Tigers with 3.2 steals per game, ranking third in conference and 16th nationally.
In a 20-point loss on the road against the No. 18 Kentucky Wildcats, the Aggies were led by Ny’Ceara Pryor, who put up 21 points, four rebounds, eight rebounds, four steals, and three assists. Pryor also leads the team in scoring (15.8 PPG), assists (6.5 assists per game), and steals (3.7 steals per game). Her assists per game amount to second in the SEC, and her steals per game come first in conference. The Aggies went into the locker room at halftime down 38-18 and played the Wildcats evenly in the second half 37-37, but their underwhelming first half was too much to overcome.
In Auburn and Texas A&M’s last meeting, the Tigers conquered the Aggies 65-52 in Neville Arena. Auburn led 28-13 going into halftime, which was Auburn’s best defensive performance since they only let the Crimson Tide score 12 in the first half of their matchup in 2019.
Auburn will face off against the Texas A&M Aggies on Feb. 12 at Reed Arena at 5 p.m. CST. A win would mark Auburn's first ever win in College Station and Auburn's third straight win over the Aggies.
