For all the similarities Auburn and Clemson share, and they are many — the campuses are eerily similar in design; they share the same feline nickname; heck, they’ve both got a clock tower-based building that’s the de facto mascot of the university — the state of the two football teams is antithetical, and it couldn’t have been more apparent Saturday night.

Lee County Judge Jacob Walker today denied a motion from the prosecution requesting that the court order former House Speaker Mike Hubbard to pay $1.125 million in restitution to the state of Alabama. Walker didn't rule on any of the remaining three post-trial motions filed by the defense.

While Auburn's still trying to solidify its depth chart and find starters at key positions, including quarterback, the team will largely use the last two weeks of the preseason to prepare for Dabo Swinney's Tigers.
