The Indian Pines Public Golf Course will be closed at the end of the year for Auburn University Regional airport extension project. City Council approved a $1.2 million contribution to the extension project as part of the consent agenda at its March 1, 2022 meeting.

The owner of one of Auburn's busiest downtown bars has been arrested by the Auburn Police Department and charged with misdemeanor sexual misconduct.

At Tuesday night's City Council meeting, Beth Witten of Ward 3 continued the discussion on the Bedzzz Express mural and the zoning ordinance for community art. Witten and Mayor Ron Anders will create a committee to evaluate and present changes to the City’s zoning ordinance.
The City of Auburn hosted its 32 annual Daddy-Daughter Date Night. The three-hour, two-night event was held Friday, Feb. 11th, and Saturday, Feb. 12th, at the Auburn Junior High School field house.
The Cup & Saucer is a local market and cafe that has contributed to the hospitality industry in Auburn for over 18 years under the leadership of local chef, Lisa French. The Cup & Saucer has catered University events, served meals to Auburn students and provided a local taste to the community.

The Kreher Preserve and Nature Center is located ten minutes from main campus and offers a variety of opportunities for Auburn students and community members. First donated to Auburn University in 1993, the Louise Kreher Forest Ecology Preserve, was opened to the community in 2008 and renamed as the KPNC in 2015.

Auburn Student Government Association had its spring 2022 election kick off on Tuesday, Feb. 1. That night, the SGA Great Debate was held where each candidate answered questions about their platform for the student body.

City Council voted on a number of zoning ordinances from the planning commission at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting. The council voted to approved the zoning ordinances after residents asked them to deny it.
If you know anything about the Auburn music scene, The Stews is likely a familiar name. However, they are currently taking their music to the next level by playing on a large-scale tour with another Auburn-originated band, The Vegabonds.
On the first day of the New Year, Pups on the Plains announced the end of an era for their organization.
On Jan. 25, the Auburn City Council voted on a new redistricting plan based on the results of the 2020 census. The new plan passed with a 7-2 majority vote.
