UPC hosted Mardi Gras on the Plains Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the Melton Student Center ballroom. Students celebrated the last night of Mardi Gras by adorning themselves in beads, handmade bracelets and masquerade masks while they enjoyed Cajun dishes.

Bruce Pearl and his No. 13 Tigers return home from an emotional week, defeating No. 15 Alabama by 18 before falling to the Florida Gators in Gainesville by 16. Auburn still is in position to achieve everything it wants to as a team, but the competition that awaits this week is perhaps the toughest stretch of the season.

There is a new exhibit open at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art that features southern artists. The exhibit will be open until July, giving students and citizens a chance to view the works.

No. 20 Auburn (1-1-1) hosted Belmont (1-2) for the second time this weekend on Sunday at Jane B. Moore Field. The game reached the top of the third inning before severe weather ended the contest, for the second straight day, here at the Tiger Invitational. The game was scoreless when it was called and, as it did not go the required five innings, it was declared a no-contest.

The annual Krewe De Tigris Mardi Gras parade and sixth annual Krewe Krawl were held on Saturday, Feb.10. The Krewe Krawl began at 11 a.m. and the parade started at 1 p.m.

For the 15th straight time, Auburn left Gainesville, Florida a loser as the Tigers struggled mightily in an 81-65 loss to the Florida Gators. The Tigers, who came into the game looking to break a 28-year streak of futility at the O’Connell Center, instead found themselves on the losing end of a blowout for the first time this season.
