Events honor students who go to school, have jobs too

Auburn University's Career Development Services honored students who hold jobs this week by sponsoring National Student Employment Week."The point of National Student Employment Week is to celebrate the contributions students make to our campus and our community," said Holly Holman, the student employment manager at Career Development Services.

Equestrian headed to championship

The Auburn equestrian team's scheduled March 28 meet against Tennessee-Martin was cancelled because of expected severe weather.This was the Tigers' final home meet of the season, and it will not be made up.The team is 6-4 on the season going into the Southern Equestrian Championships this weekend."I actually feel very, very good about how we're going to be able to perform in the postseason," said equestrian head coach Greg Williams.Auburn's equestrian team started its 2008-2009 season strongly, remaining the top-ranked team and undefeated in its first four matches.The Tigers' first loss came in its Feb.

Students step it up for Tiger Stomp event

Audience members packed the Auburn University Student Act for Tiger Stomp Saturday.Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi and Alpha Phi Alpha won first, second and third in the fraternity category.In the sorority category, the winners were Delta Sigma Theta, Pretty in Pink and Delta Zeta."It's one of the big events of every spring semester," said Nicole Bolden, a junior in pre-computer science who is social director for the Black Student Union's cabinet.The Black Student Union presents Tiger Stomp every spring semester to showcase sorority and fraternity stepping.
