The Auburn Softball team (7-3) hosted the Tiger Invitational this weekend at Jane B. Moore Field.
Ohio University (2-7), the University of Nebraska (7-4), Central Michigan University (1-3) and the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (2-7) competed in the invitational along with the Tigers.
Auburn swept the tournament.
"We came out ready to play," said junior infielder Alicia Hunolt. "We've been pumped up since our loss to Georgia State."
Auburn faced Ohio Friday afternoon, beating the Wildcats 6-0.
Senior pitcher Anna Thompson pitched all seven shutout innings, recording seven strikeouts and giving up only three hits.
"I have so much confidence in the defense right now," Thompson said. "These girls are absolutely amazing."
The Tigers played two games Saturday, defeating Nebraska 2-1 and Central Michigan 6-2.
Pitching was a team effort against the Cornhuskers, as redshirt sophomore Lauren Schmalz, redshirt sophomore Angel Bunner and Thompson all pitched in the game.
"We knew, as a pitching staff, that it was going to be a tougher game," Thompson said. "But we stuck it out and came out with a win."
Auburn's bats came alive against the Chippewas as the Tigers scored six runs on 10 hits.
"Our offense is on point," Hunolt said. "We are ready to go and there's no doubt about that."
Auburn head coach Tina Deese said scoring six runs in games is awesome.
"It helps develop confidence with the hitters," Deese said.
Auburn concluded the invitational against the SIUE Cougars.
Auburn bats were fairly quiet throughout the game until the sixth inning when junior infielder Kyndall White drove in a run with zero outs and sparked a six-run effort.
The inning was highlighted by a three-run double by Hunolt.
"I've been waiting for my chance for a while," Hunolt said.
Auburn looks to improve its record as it hosts Jacksonville State University (2-1) Wednesday at 5 p.m.
"We're getting better daily, but we're going to really see what we're made of next week," Deese said.
