Auburn won the day at the women's equestrian meet Thursday with a 14-4 against Kansas State University.
First, Auburn got the jump on Kansas State in the Hunt seat equitation over fences event, scoring 4-0 thanks to riders Ali Loprete, senior, riding Sly; Maggie McAlary, senior, riding Wendell; Jennifer Waxman, freshman, riding Crew; and Anna Shierholz, senior, riding Clifford.
McAlary was named MVP of the event.
In the Hunt seat equitation, Auburn led with a 3-2, scored by McAlary, riding Irish; Lindsay Portela, sophomore, riding Luke; and Anna Becker, sophomore, riding Sprite.
Portela was named equitation MVP.
In the Western segment of the meet, Auburn won 4-1 in the horsemanship event. Points were scored by Bailey Dymond, senior, riding Eli; Indy Roper, senior, riding Mighty Mouse; Stephanie Rucci, freshman, riding Money; and Kristen Hansen, junior, riding Dakota.
Rucci was named MVP of horsemanship.
Finally, the team reined in a 3-1 win over Kansas State in the Western reining event, with points scored by Roper, riding Lily; Paige Monfore, senior, riding Cody; and Kelsey George, junior, riding Cash.
Roper was named MVP of the reining event.
In the Friday meet against South Dakota State University, Auburn ended with a 15-4 victory.
Hunterseat Equitation was the first event, with Auburn winning against South Dakota, 5-0. Points were scored by Dottie Grubb, senior, riding Wendell; Piper Donnelly, freshman, riding Sly; Portela, riding Irish; McAlary, riding Sprite; and Mallory Kolpin, senior, riding Brighton.
Auburn maintained their winning streak, with a 3-2 win over South Dakota in the Western horsemanship event. Points were scored by Chelsea Zillner, freshman, riding Big Bird; Mary Casey, senior, riding Eli; and Dymond, riding Money.
In the Western reining event, Auburn tied with South Dakota 2-2, with points scored for Auburn by Kristin Hansen, junior, riding Hercules; and Roper, riding Findley.
Finally, Auburn defeated South Dakota 5-0 in the hunterseat equitation over fences. Points were scored by Portela, riding Pruschka; Becker, riding Paris; Coryn Bergenty, sophomore, riding Luke; Grace Socha, junior, riding Lena; and Waxman, riding Wendall.
