Rivals announce joint initiative

A joint initiative between Auburn University and the University of Alabama was announced today. Sister trees will be planted, one on each campus, as a sign of unity between the two schools.

"Today starts the beginning of a great adventure, of a joint venture between Auburn University and the University of Alabama," said Kurt Sasser, SGA president and senior in human resource management.

No timeline or location was given for the trees.

Alabama SGA President James Fowler said he hoped the trees would only strengthen the unity between the two schools.

"This is about more than football," Fowler said. "This is about a partnership, and it is about the state of Alabama."
