The Tigers travel back from Baton Rouge heavy with disappointment from a fourth-consecutive conference lost.
After a strong start to the season, the women's volleyball team kept a tight score against LSU, winning the second set, but ultimately left defeated 3-1.
Coach Rick Nold said consistency is a point of weakness for the team.
"It's a matter of having confidence in ourselves," said Nold. "When we double think our own moves that is when our opponents score the most of their points."
After winning the second set, the tigers took a lead in the third set and kept the game tied before losing the third set by only four points.
Coach Nold said Kelly Fidero, senior in health promotion, is a strong outside player.
"She played aggressively and kept Auburn in the game," said Nold.
Fidero said she expected LSU to play a strong and smart game and although it was a loss, she said the team benefited from the match.
"Playing away and on the road is a struggle for our team," said Fidero. "But we ended on a good note. Aside from the first set we kept it close the entire time, we just couldn't close."
The players look forward to a week of practice focused on the upcoming match against Tennessee. Nold said practice will not change dramatically for the rest of the season. Focus will remain on serving and keeping energy up on the court.
"We aren't happy with what we left with," said Nold. "Practice will remain the same, we want to play with the same identity throughout the season."
Although the tigers are dealing with another loss team captain Sarah Bullock, junior in public relations, said she believes that there was much improvement in the match.
"With the exception of game one, we did just what we practiced," said Bullock. "We fought back whenever they had runs and we pushed through. I'm never satisfied with a loss but I'm really proud of what we did accomplish within the games."
The team will face Tennessee at home Friday 7 p.m.
