I'm sure, or at least I hope, that you have already received many outraged letters concerning a certain writer for The Plainsman.
The writer in question, Ms. Kelly Tsaltas, may have a very strong opinion--however I'm afraid her article about how Breast Cancer Awareness is "over-advertised" is outright ignorant.
It is embarrassing for me to know that this woman is representing the same school as me. Her other controversial article may have angered people, but it was only about a way of dressing.
This article criticizes people who care about a very serious matter: a disease that kills. This article inadvertently criticizes the Auburn campus for showing support of breast cancer awareness month by shining pink lights.
I believe there is a difference in sharing your opinion and harshly offending a large number of people. If Ms. Tsaltas remains a writer, I ask that her articles are more closely supervised and edited. If her editor thinks this article is acceptable, I pity you both.
