Auburn made it to overtime in its second-consecutive game, but couldn't keep up in Baton Rouge, losing to the Tigers 65-58.
Varez Ward tied the game at 56 with four seconds remaining in the final period to take Auburn into overtime.
Center Rob Chubb recorded a double-double, scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds, while guard Frankie Sullivan led the Tigers with 19 points.
Justin Hamilton made two jumpers and Andre Stringer invigorated LSU with a three pointer to begin the overtime period, giving the purple and gold a 63-58 lead.
Auburn had just 1:24 remaining after Stringers three pointer, and the only points scored by Auburn in overtime was a dunk by Chubb.
Losing to the Tigers puts Auburn at 11-7 overall and 1-3 in the SEC. Although the Tigers have suffered two SEC losses, their starting five remain solid, with Kenny Gabriel averaging nearly 12 points per game and Frankie Sullivan with the same.
The next three games for the Tigers include a match-up against the Gamecocks on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and two home games against Arkansas and Tennessee.
