Tigers lose third-straight to Ole Miss

With a two-game losing streak to Alabama and Mississippi State, the Tigers couldn't hold on to a first-half lead and fell to Ole Miss 61-54.

Ole Miss switched to man-to-man defense in the first half, and Auburn reacted with a six-point lead with two minutes remaining in the first half.

Forward Kenny Gabriel hit a deep three-pointer with 20 seconds remaining, and guard Nick Williams answered back for Ole Miss with a three at the buzzer.

Noel Johnson fired a three-pointer with 15:20 in the second half to put the Tigers up 39-28, but forward Murphy Holloway scored two quick layups to close the Rebels within seven.

The Rebels went on a 14-0 run in the second half, giving them a 42-39 lead, but Gabriel hit a two to tie the game at 51.

The Tigers lost several possessions to the Ole Miss defense, and fell behind late in the period.

The Rebels never let Auburn get another lead, and forced Auburn to its third-straight loss.
