Looks like Clemson won't be the only team missing a key player in next Saturday's Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic in Atlanta.
Sophomore center Reese Dismukes was arrested and charged with public intoxication Friday night, the Birmingham News reported Saturday. He was released on a $300 bond, according to Lee County Sheriff online records.
While Auburn has yet to issue a ruling on the status of Dismukes, officials are aware of the arrest and are in the process of collecting more information before making a disciplinary decision.
Nevertheless, an arrest this close to kickoff leaves coach Gene Chizik with limited options.
Dismukes has been a vital part of the offensive line since he stepped on the field in 2011. The Spanish Fort, Ala., native started all 13 games at center as a true freshman, earning freshman All-American and freshman All-SEC honors.
The second string center is Tunde Fariyike, a redshirt sophomore who appeared in all 13 games last season on special teams. Despite seeing playing time, Fariyike hasn't seen any meaningful playing time at center.
