Gymnastics tops Session I of SEC Championship

Auburn's gymnastics team finished in first place in Session I of the SEC Championships in North Little Rock, Ark Saturday, March 23.
The 12th-ranked Tigers finished with a score of 196.550, beating out Arkansas, Kentucky and Missouri.
Auburn's score of 196.550 is the highest SEC Championship score in program history, and the Tigers have now scored more than 196 points in a school-record eight consecutive meets.
Auburn started off in the vault and finished with the top five individual scores. Sophomore Bri Guy led all participants in the vault with a score of 9.850. The Tigers finished the vault portion with a score of 49.100.
Three Tigers and Arkansas' Keara Glover tied for first in the uneven parallel bars, all posting scores of 9.800. Auburn finished the event with a 48.875 score and moved its overall score to 97.975.
Senior Petrina Yokay's score of 9.875 in the balance beam was good for a first-place tie in the event, giving Auburn the top score in three of the four events. The only other Tiger to participate was sophomore Caryn Kadous, who finished tied for fourth overall with a score of 9.825. Auburn added 19.700 points to boost its overall score to 117.675.
Auburn went on to move its score to 196.550 and secure a first-place finish in Session I. Arkansas (196.400) finished second, Kentucky (194.600) finished third and Missouri (195.525) finished fourth.
