After a six-run rally in the sixth inning the softball team defeated Alabama State 9-6 on Wednesday, March 6.

The Tigers trailed for most of the game and were down as much as four points.

They began chipping away at the lead in the fourth inning, but still couldn't get anything going. In the sixth, things started to look up for the Tigers. With the bases loaded Morgan Estelle laced a single to center field that brought in two runs, and then Caitlin Jordan hit a single that brought in two more runners to give the Tigers the lead and the victory.

Marcy Harper earned the win in relief to improve to 7-2. Harper allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. Hilary Mavromat started and gave up four runs, two earned, on four hits in two-thirds of an inning.

Auburn will host Florida Friday, March 8 at 6 p.m.
