Dillon Ortman picked up his eighth win of the season in a 2-1 victory over No. 24 Arkansas in Fayetteville on Friday night.

Ortman pitched 8.1 innings allowing one run on six hits.

Their lone run off of Ortman came in the bottom of the fifth when the Razorbacks took the 1-0 load due to a fielder's choice scoring the runner from third.

Auburn responded in the top of the sixth when Damon Haecker hit a two-out RBI single to score Jordan Ebert, who reached base on an error. Auburn took the lead later in the inning when Arkansas committed their second error of the inning resulting in Haecker scoring.

Both of Auburn's runs in the game were unearned but Ortman kept it going on the mound until the bottom of the ninth when Terrance Dedrick took over with a runner on second and one out.

Despite the Razorbacks loading the bases in the bottom of ninth, Dedrick rallied by getting the last two outs to prevent them from scoring in order to earn his third save of the season.

After tonight, Auburn improves to 8-11 in the SEC and 23-19 overall and will look to win the series in the doubleheader tomorrow starting at 4 p.m.
