Week 1 in the College Football world is over and the pieces have started shift.
Auburn jumped from No. 6 to No. 5 on the AP poll to match the Coaches poll ranking from the past two weeks. The Tigers' 45-21 win over SEC rival Arkansas was convincing enough to move them one spot.
The skip, which some might say is more due to Ohio State's loss of QB Braxton Miller, keeps the Tigers in front of rival Georgia on both polls (No. 6 on AP, No. 8 on Coaches). Auburn beat Arkansas with a backup quarterback for the first half along with a suspension on defense.
Florida State, preseason #1 in both the AP and Coaches polls, remains on top with a 37-31 win over unranked Oklahoma State.
No. 2 Alabama and No. 3 Oregon remain in place after winning their opening games against West Virginia and South Dakota. (33-23 Alabama vs. West Virgina, 62-13 Oregon vs. San Diego) Oklahoma stays at No. 3 (Coaches) and No. 4 (AP) after a 48-16 win over Louisiana Tech.
Texas A&M saw the largest boost in rankings going into week 2. The Aggies jumped from No. 21 to No. 9 in the AP poll and a rise from No. 20 to No. 13 in the Coaches poll.
