Auburn equestrian’s run at another national title ended Saturday, April 18, at the Extraco Events Center as Tigers were bested by No. 1 Georgia 10-6 in the semifinal round of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championships.
After winning equitation on the flat 3-1, and tying 2-2 in reining, Auburn built a 5-3 lead in the first half.
Junior All-American Elizabeth Benson defeated Liza Finsness in flat, 192-177. Benson had the lone points for Auburn in the fences, defeating Leylan Gleeson, 186-163.
Sophomore Ashley Foster beat Leylan Gleeson, 177-169, and senior Demi Stiegler toped Kylee Arbuckle 189-187.
Alexa Riverd finished 3-0 at the NCEA Championships after defeating Charley Thiel, 137.5-128.5. Senior Katsy Leeman closed out the meet with a 134.5-0 win over Lauren Tieche.
