5 p.m.: The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Lee County until 10 p.m.
According to the weather service, storms with the potential for severe weather are forming in eastern Alabama. Storms producing wind gust of 70 mph and isolated hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter are possible.
