Katie Frerking named SEC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Auburn forward Katie Frerking has been named SEC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the Southeastern Conference office announced Tuesday.

Frerking has been the difference for the Tigers this season (18-8, 8-5), who have put together a 5-0 record in the month of February. 

In Auburn's win over No. 16 Florida on Valentine's Day, Frerking led all players with 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals. On Thursday, Feb. 11, Frerking was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District team and recorded 17 points and six assists against Ole Miss in Auburn Arena.

During Auburn's five-game win streak, Frerking has averaged 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.0 steals per game. She also leads Auburn in scoring, assists and steals in conference play.
