Update: 7:35 p.m.: The tornado warning for Lee County has expired. Tornado watch has also been canceled. No more severe weather is expected.
Update: The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for southeastern Lee County until 7:30 p.m. Auburn University campus is not in the warning area.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Lee County until 9 p.m.
The weather service said tornadoes, damaging winds gusts up to 70 mph and hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter are possible.
"A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area," the weather service said in the watch message. "Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings."
