Marko Krickovic of Auburn men’s tennis made the first step toward Academic All-America recognition by earning a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District at-large team Thursday.
Serving as Auburn's team captain for 2015-16, Krickovic was recognized previously as Auburn's male scholar-athlete of the year and completed his senior season ranked No.86 nationally in singles and No. 39 in doubles. The senior recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance, carrying a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average and member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Krickovic was one of 10 male student-athletes from District 4 competing in the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling to be recognized on the Academic All-District team. Nominees must carry at least a 3.30 overall GPA and be in their second year at their academic institution.
Krickovic will be listed on the national ballot for Academic All-America at-large honors. Those selections will be announced Thursday, June 9.
