It's been several weeks since Pokémon Go launched. In the time since, it has taken over smartphones across the country. By many measures, it is one of the most successful mobile apps ever created, according to Digital Trends.
With such popularity, heavy consumption and the app's virtual reality, safety is a real concern. Earlier this month, a young man was robbed in Auburn while playing PokémonGo at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art.
Verge Pipe Media, a local digital marketing agency, created a Pokémon Go, Safety First video.
"This app has had an overwhelming impact on the Auburn community, positively and negatively," said Catherine Andrews, a Verge Pipe Media junior account manager. "The app has captured the undivided attention of many, which has put some in harms way. There have been stories of robberies and injuries in the news recently, and we would like to help inform players of some safety precautions with this video."
