A second suspect was arrested today in connection with a shooting along North Gay Street on Sunday, police said in press release.
The Auburn Police Division arrested 18-year-old Marcus Joquin Williams from Tuskegee on Sept. 2 on a warrant charging him with a felony offense of attempted murder, the release said.
He was apprehended by the APD along with assistance from the Tallasee Police Department, the Macon County sheriff's office, the Kilby Correctional Facility K9 Unit and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
He was taken into custody at a home in Macon County and is now being held in the Lee County Jail on a $75,000 bond, police said.
Police are still investigating the incident but said today that no additional arrests are anticipated.
Officers responded to a 911 call early Sunday morning at approximately 2:43 a.m. reporting "shots fired." When officers arrived, police said, two individuals appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds.
Later investigation determined suspects fired shots at several individuals in an apartment and damaged two additional apartments.
A 21-year-old female was taken to East Alabama Medical Center and was later released after being treated for one gunshot wound. Another 23-year-old male was flown to Columbus Regional Medical Center, police said.
He underwent surgery and as of Tuesday remained in critical condition. Police have not updated his condition.
The APD arrested Jerrod Moss, 21, from Auburn Tuesday, Aug. 30, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal's Service Fugitive Task Force, according to the police release. Moss is also being held at the Lee County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
