President-elect Donald Trump is planning a victory appearance back at one of the venues that helped to launch his successful bid for president last month.
Trump's campaign announced on Thursday that he would return to Mobile for a rally as part of his "USA Thank You Tour 2016." The president-elect will appear at Mobile's Ladd-Peebles Stadium next Saturday, Dec. 17 for a midday rally to celebrate and thank supporters for his victory.
Ladd-Peebles Stadium was also the site of a large rally in August 2015, which was widely considered as one of his first successful campaign rallies. It drew thousands and saw an appearance from Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-AL, who is now slated to become Trump's attorney general nominee.
Gates at the stadium next Saturday will open at 11 a.m., and the event is set to begin at 3 p.m. Those interested in attending the rally can get up to two free tickets by registering on Trump's campaign website with a valid cell phone number and email address.
Trump won the presidential election in November, according to the Associated Press, by clinching more than the 270 needed electoral votes. The president-elect will be inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2017 in Washington.
