Police arrest 31-year-old in connection with a September burglary

The Auburn Police Division arrested a 31-year-old from Montgomery on Friday on felony warrants charging him with burglary and theft of property, police said.

Police arrested Christopher Grenada Durry on charges of third-degree burglary and third-degree theft of property. The arrests were the result of an investigation into a home burglary on Sept. 26, 2016, at a North Ross Street residence.

The victim said someone came into their home while they were away and stole jewelry, clothes and money, all of which were valued at over $500.

Durry was later developed as a suspect and arrest warrants were obtained after being identified as the individual responsible, police said. Police took him into custody Friday after he was released from the Montgomery County Detention Facility where he was being held on unrelated charges.

He is being held now at the Lee County Jail on a $4,500 bond.
