Police arrest Auburn man on murder charges

Auburn Police on Tuesday arrested a 21-year-old from Auburn, Kendrevious Deshaun Dumas, from Auburn, on a felony warrant charging him with the murder of 20-year-old Tyquavious D. Jackson on Sunday.

Police responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Bedell Avenue on Saturday, April 1, at about 10:20 p.m. At the scene, police found Jackson unresponsive at the scene and suffering from several gun shot wounds.

Paramedics treated him, but he died from his injuries. Lee County Coroner Bill Harris pronounced him dead Sunday night at 10:33 p.m.

Dumas, who was later developed as a suspect, was known to the victim. Police determined that they had an altercation at the home on Bedell Avenue, which resulted in Jackson being shot.

Police charged Dumas with murder after obtaining an arrest warrant. He turned himself into the Auburn Police Division, was arrested and was transported to the Lee County Detention Facility where he is now being held on a $150,000 bond.
