Woody Barrett to transfer from Auburn program

Auburn quarterback Woody Barrett has decided to leave the program. He announced his decision on Twitter Monday morning. He did not announce where his next destination will be.

“I would like to take the time to thank Auburn University for welcoming me to their program,” Barrett wrote. “However, after a long thought process with my family and coaches I have decided it’s in my best interest to transfer.”

The redshirt freshman quarterback had fallen down the depth chart with new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey at the helm. True freshman Malik Willis had surpassed Barrett and taken over the third string role.

The former four-star recruit attempted just two passes during Auburn’s A-Day scrimmage. He completed both passes for 14 yards.

Barrett did not make an appearance in an Auburn uniform.
