Police arrest 3 teens, charging them with auto burglaries

Auburn police arrested three teenagers Thursday in connection with a Wire Road auto burglary.

Police charged a 14-year-old male from Auburn, a 15-year-old male from Auburn and a 15-year-old male from Loachapoka, Alabama, with two counts of unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle, third-degree theft of property and fourth-degree theft of property.

Police responded to a suspicious persons complaint at about 9:40 p.m. Thursday night near the 1700 block of Wire Road. Police located the three teens within minutes and took them into custody. Police say they took $26 from a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado along with a backpack, headphones, sunglasses and $520 from a 2012 Chevrolet Impala.

All of the property was recovered in the teens' possession.

The names of the teens were not released as part of normal operating procedure when handling juvenile arrests.
