Tigers senior guard Braden Smith has been named to the Outland Trophy preseason watch list, announced Thursday morning. The watch list selection is the second-straight for Smith, who will carry his All-SEC first team accolades into the fall of 2017.
Auburn senior Daniel Carlson was added to the Lou Groza Award watch list on Wednesday morning. Carlson, who is entering his final season with the Tigers, finished as a finalist for the award in the last two seasons.
Carlson was dubbed SEC Special Teams Player of the Year following last season's mark of 87.5 percent on field goals and became a second team All-American for the second consecutive season.
Smith and Carlson have both been pegged as members of preseason All-SEC and All-American teams. The pair of seniors will join DB Tray Matthews as representatives for Auburn at Thursday's SEC Media Days in Hoover.
