Paintball attack: Suspect shoots paintballs at cars, public safety says

Two different people reported being shot at with a paintball gun while driving their cars on West Samford avenue on Thursday.

University Campus Safety and Security said the incidents were reported between 1:40 and 1:50 p.m. Police are also investigating two other similar incidents were also reported off campus over the past week.

The first vehicle shot at was on Wire Road at West Samford Avenue. The second was on West Samford near South Donahue Drive. The individuals' vehicles were hit on their driver's side doors.

Campus Safety said the police did not get a description of the subject or subjects, but a Chevrolet Z71 pickup truck was reported in the two off-campus incidents.

Campus Safety said to stay alert to your surroundings and report any suspicious activity to police immediately at 911 for emergencies, 334-501-3100 for non-emergencies or 334-246-1391 for tips or anonymous reports, both text or call.
