Three Auburn residents charged with murder after 16-year-old shot in Panama City Beach

Three men from Auburn have been charged with felony murder after a 16-year-old Panama City Beach high school student was killed shortly after midnight Sunday.

The Bay County, Florida, Sheriff's Office arrested Rodney Jones, an 18-year-old from Auburn; Gertavious Montrez Canada, a 24-year-old from Auburn; and Demarcus Gidden, a 21-year-old from Auburn. All three have been charged with armed robbery, according to Panama City Beach news channel WJHG .

Jones and Canada were also charged with felony murder. Gidden was charged with an open count of murder.

Police have said they believe Giddens shot the victim but all three suspects were involved in what appeared to be a "drug rip-off."

The victim, Jason Ian Price, died after being shot.
