Residents of Auburn have one more thing to hold over the rest of the state. Auburn was the only city in Alabama to make Livability's 2018 Top 100 Best Places to Live list.
Coming in at 93 on the annual list, the City of Auburn received praise for its historic neighborhoods, transportation options, citizen involvement and "thriving downtown."
The Auburn City Schools and University also gave the city an edge. Among the top 100 cities, Auburn had the 19th best score for education.
Livability is a website that focuses on life in small-to-medium sized cities.
Auburn is joined on the list by other Southern cities like Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Charleston, South Carolina; Gainsville, Florida, and College Station, Texas.
