A technical glitch on Chick-fil-A's website led many in Auburn to think the fast-food chain's Magnolia Avenue location would be reopening 24 hours a day.
Bob McFadden, operator of Chick-fil-A at Magnolia Avenue, told The Plainsman the location will continue to be open only during normal hours of business.
"We do not have a reopening date to share just yet, but we will keep the community updated as we come closer to completing our remodeling efforts," McFadden said. "Upon reopening, the Chick-fil-A at Magnolia Avenue will not be open 24 hours – the hours will be 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. as usual. We look forward to serving our guests again soon."
The confusion began when newly graduated Auburn alumnus Trystan Harris tweeted a picture of the Chick-fil-A hours displayed on Google's search page. The tweet got a lot of attention.
Sitting at 225 retweets and 662 likes, the tweet received 21 responses from thrilled students.
Everyone thought the Chick-Fil-A on Mag did “renovations” to try to clear out the rumored rats when in reality they were planning something much bigger... pic.twitter.com/Thaz7pCLWd
