Auburn man charged in connection to vehicle break-ins and theft

An Auburn man was charged Wednesday in connection to vehicle break-ins and theft.

19-year-old Jacob Michael Norwood is charged with two counts of breaking and entering, third-degree theft of property, fourth-degree theft of property, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. Norwood was arrested on warrants by the Auburn Police Division. 

At about 1:30 a.m., Auburn police responded to a call about a suspicious person at an apartment complex located in the 600 block of DeKalb Street, according to statement from police on Wednesday.

Norwood was found to be in possession of a wallet, credit cards and cash that was taken from the vehicles.

He was taken to the Lee County Jail and is being held on a $10,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.
