Last week, a man was punched in the face by a person dressed as a fairy on Halloween. The victim suffered from a broken jaw. Now, a 19-year-old from Auburn was charged by police with assault.
John David Wood, 19, was arrested by Auburn police and charged with second-degree assault.
On Nov. 1, at around 4:30 a.m., the 18-year-old victim was walking in the 500 block of West Magnolia Avenue when Wood, dressed in a fairy costume, approached and punched him in the face, according to police.
Wood then fled the scene. Following an investigation, Wood was identified as the person who threw the punch by Auburn Police Division.
Wood was taken to the Lee County Jail and booked on a $25,000 bond.
