Auburn Police arrested an Opelika man charged with murder after responding to a disturbance in the early hours of Monday morning, according to the Auburn Police Division.
Shaium Williams, 25, was detained when police arrived on the scene and found Williams armed and walking away from a residence.
When police entered the residence they found a 33-year-old male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. There was a verbal altercation inside the residence that escalated to gunshots, according to Police.
The case is being investigated as a homicide. Williams is being held on a $150,000 bond at the Lee County Jail, according to Police.
