Foosackly’s, a fast-food chain serving chicken and French fries, has announced a plan to add an Auburn location this fall.

Foosackly’s currently has 10 locations in southern Alabama and two in western Florida.

Will Fusaiotti, Foosackly’s owner and co-founder, said the location is close to campus, but not too close that it would only attract students.

“We’ve got a good spot that we can build a community around,” Fusaiotti said.

Fusaiotti said they are hoping to get a permanent building permit in the next 30 to 45 days, and they are expecting a construction time of 75 to 90 days. The goal, he said, is for the location to open in early fall around September.

The restaurant will replace the Schlotzsky's that's located on 131 N. Dean Road.
