Auburn running backs coach Cadillac Williams has landed a big fish.

On Tuesday afternoon, four-star running back Armoni Goodwin announced his commitment to the Tigers, becoming Auburn's first verbal commit in the 2021 class.

Goodwin, a rising junior at Hewitt-Trussville High School, is a top-50 player in the country, the No. 4 player in the state and the No. 2 running back in the nation in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

“I think he did a great job on him,” Hewitt-Trussville coach Josh Floyd told 247Sports about Williams's recruitment of Goodwin. “I met Cadillac for the first time during the spring recruiting period. He’s got a big name obviously with Auburn ties. People know him and families know him. Armoni’s mom knew who he was and that made a big difference. I know he has developed a real good relationship with Armoni.”
