Patrick Buanhion Ang, 21, was arrested on child pornography charges on October 22, 2019.

Patrick Buanhion Ang was arrested on Oct. 22, 2019, on warrants charging him with five counts of possession of child pornography, according to the Auburn Police Division.

Preston Sparks, director of University Communications Services, confirmed Ang as a student to The Plainsman.

Ang, 21, turned himself into Auburn detectives on Oct. 22, once warrants were obtained for his arrest.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and the Auburn Police Division led investigations that resulted in the arrest.

Police searched Ang’s residence after he downloaded multiple images of suspected child pornography. Police seized multiple electronic devices containing suspected child pornography during the search.

Ang has been transported to the Lee County Jail where he is being held on $100,000 bond.

The case remains under investigation by the APD, ALEA and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. APD says additional charges are expected.
