An altercation between multiple individuals Friday night left one person with minor injuries after being grazed by a bullet, according to the Auburn Police Division.

The incident happened in a parking lot near the main downtown Auburn parking deck, according to Captain Scott Mingus.

Mingus said prior to police arrival, a fight broke out and the suspect leaving in a vehicle fired a shot from inside his vehicle and struck a victim involved in the fight.

The victim was grazed by the shot and taken to the hospital where he was treated and released almost immediately with minor injuries, according to Mingus.

Neither the suspect or the victim is associated with the City of Auburn or Auburn University, Mingus said.

Mingus said the suspect was arrested and booked in the Lee County Jail.
