The Opelika Police Department is investigating a case of possible child abuse at Carver Primary School.
The police department received a complaint on Monday afternoon from a parent of a student at the school. The parent said the student was assaulted by a school staff member, according to a statement from police.
Police are investigating the report with the Department of Human Resources and Opelika City Schools.
Police said details of the case will not be released because of the sensitive nature of the case.
