Auburn teen injured in shooting, police say

A 16-year-old was transported to the hospital on Wednesday after being shot in the upper torso in an alleged shooting, according to the Auburn Police Division.

The alleged shooting occurred in the 800 block of North Donahue Drive, police said.

The victim, from Auburn, was interacting with two known acquaintances and an unknown person on April 15 before one of the suspects shot the victim, police said. All three suspects then fled, according to police.

Two suspects are 17 years old and from Auburn, police said. Names were not released by the Auburn Police Division. 

The victim was transported to the Piedmont Medical Center, in Columbus, Georgia, and is in stable condition, police said. 

The case remains under investigation. Officials said charges are anticipated.
