The new Opelika Police building on South 10th St., on Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, in Opelika, Ala.
At 3:50 p.m. Monday afternoon, the Opelika Police Department engaged in a high-speed pursuit that began in Auburn. The pursuit continued northbound along Interstate 85, ending in Chambers County.
During the pursuit, the suspects’ vehicle struck an OPD officer. The officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was able to be treated on the scene.
The suspects were taken into custody in Chambers County. The incident is being investigated by local law enforcement.
