Opelika murder suspect arrested in Connecticut

U.S. Marshals arrested John Robert Thomas III at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 25 in Mildale, Connecticut, according to an Opelika Police Department press release. Thomas was identified as the suspect in a shooting that took place at the 300 Block of South Third Street in Opelika on Feb. 19.

Thomas is being charged with murder, attempted murder, robbery first degree and discharging a firearm into an unoccupied dwelling. OPD continues to investigate the case.
