The following day, Sunday, July 4, Auburn Parks and Recreation will host an Independence Day celebration at Duck Samford Stadium. Located at 1840 E. Glenn Ave., fireworks will be set off over the old water tower site on East University Drive, adjacent to Duck Samford Park.

Baseball fields 1-3 at the park, on 1720 E. University Drive, will be closed to the public to accommodate the fireworks shoot site. For those who want to watch from a different other location, the fireworks can be viewed from homes in the surrounding area, to as far as the Auburn Mall parking lot.

Fireworks begin at 8:30 p.m. and are expected to end around 9:30. The parking lot off Airport Road, between the Bo Cavin and New Duck Samford fields, will be open to the public.
