*An earlier version of this story incorrectly said that Auburn finished 2018 with an 8-4 record, but that has been changed to the correct 8-5.
The annual preseason media poll following SEC Media Days was released on Friday, and expectations for Auburn are mixed.
The Tigers were voted to finish fifth in the SEC West behind Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU and Ole Miss.
The last time that Auburn finished fifth in the SEC West came in 2018 when they finished the season 8-5 with a 3-5 record in conference play.
While the overall expectations might not be high for Auburn, they did land nine players on the preseason All-SEC teams.
Offensively, running back Tank Bigsby and center Nick Brahms landed on the All-SEC first-team, while quarterback Bo Nix was named to the third-team.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Tigers had five players represented on the various All-SEC teams.
Linebacker Zakoby McClain and defensive back Smoke Monday represented Auburn on the All-SEC second-team. Defensive lineman Derick Hall, linebacker Owen Pappoe and defensive back Roger McCreary were all third-team selections.
Rounding things out with special teams was Bigsby and kicker Anders Carlson. Bigsby received a spot on the second-team at all-purpose, and Carlson was the third-team kicker.
