The doors of The Coffee Cat will open for comedian Eric Hunter on March 25, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Hunter will do what he does best, making people laugh, beginning at 8 p.m. on Saturday, in this cozy downtown Auburn coffee shop.

Guests can buy tickets online for $10, or they can purchase them at the door upon arrival for $15 per person.

Hunter has performed in a variety of places around the United States, sharing his ability and love for making people laugh. He has partnered with several other well-known comedians in his career, as well as made impressive appearances in comedy shows all over the country.

Hunter appeared in NBC's Last Comic Standing and Aftermath with William Shatner. Hunter was also in numerous episodes of the "Bob and Tom" radio show, and their TV show on WGN.

The Coffee Cat is a cozy coffee shop on Tichenor Avenue that is lit up with hanging lights and filled with plants and succulents. The rustic look of its interior and the variety of vintage furniture styles provides a comfortable environment for students to do schoolwork and for friends to catch up with one another. While The Coffee Cat may be a small venue, this location is well-loved by its loyal customers.

Nico Brooke, also a comedian, has helped The Coffee Cat book comedic events, like this one, in the past. However, Eric Hunter has never performed at The Coffee Cat.

Maddie Corbeau, owner of The Coffee Cat, is excited for the upcoming event and reflects on past talented entertainers.

“We’ve had events in the past hosted by Rivers Langley, who is in California most of the time… They’ve just done well, and we’re trying to branch out and have different events,” Corbeau said.

Corbeau confirmed that while the event is after normal operation hours, they will still have their full menu available.

Corbeau shared that they host events like this every now and then with talented presences, such as other comedians and musical artists. She wants everyone to keep an eye out for some other fun and upcoming events soon-to-be hosted at The Coffee Cat.

If any Auburn residents do not have plans Saturday evening and want to kick back, drink a warm cup of coffee and laugh hard with their friends, they should visit The Coffee Cat on March 25.
